Day 9 of 9

Perseverance and the fulfillment of the novena's intentions

From the Novena to St. Therese of Lisieux (the Little Flower)

Sacred Scripture: Revelation 22:12

Meditation for Day 9

On this final day we place before St. Therese the full intention of this novena, trusting in her promise that she will spend her heaven doing good upon earth. As the closing prayer recalls, by love and suffering while she was on earth she won the power with God which she now enjoys in heaven, a power she promised to exercise freely for all who ask. May she remember all our wants, make us love Jesus more, and bring all those for whom we have prayed deeper into the Little Way of holy simplicity and confident love.

Daily Novena Prayer (recited every day)

Closing Prayer

O Lord, You have said: Unless you become as little children you shall not enter the kingdom of heaven; grant us, we beg You, so to follow, in humility and simplicity of heart, the footsteps of the Virgin blessed Therese, that we may attain to an everlasting reward. Amen.

Concluding prayers: Many novena traditions add one Our Father, one Hail Mary, and one Glory Be at the close of each day's prayer.
