Confidence that God’s word will not fail
From the Novena to the Infant Jesus of Prague
Sacred Scripture: Matthew 24:35
Meditation for Day 3
The third petition rests on the words, 'Heaven and earth shall pass away but My word shall not pass away' (Mt 24:35). Because the promises of Jesus are more enduring than creation itself, the soul may feel confident that its prayer will be heard.
This confidence is not presumption but faith in the fidelity of God. Today's prayer leans entirely on the unfailing word of the Divine Child, certain that he who promised is faithful.
Daily Novena Prayer (recited every day)
Prayer of Thanksgiving to the Divine Infant Jesus
Divine Infant Jesus, I know You love me and would never leave me. I thank You for Your close Presence in my life. Miraculous Infant, I believe in Your promise of peace, blessings, and freedom from want. I place every need and care in Your hands. Lord Jesus, may I always trust in Your generous mercy and love. I want to honor and praise You, now and forever. Amen.
The traditional Prayer of Thanksgiving that concludes the Infant of Prague novena, preceded each day by the three petitions beginning "O Jesus, Who has said..." Recited each of the nine days.
Concluding prayers: Many novena traditions add one Our Father, one Hail Mary, and one Glory Be at the close of each day's prayer.
