Day 2 of 9

Trust in the power of Jesus’ Name

From the Novena to the Infant Jesus of Prague

Sacred Scripture: John 16:23

Meditation for Day 2

The second petition of the novena recalls the Lord's promise, 'All that you ask of the Father in My Name, He will grant you' (cf. Jn 16:23). The devotion teaches the faithful to ask the Father urgently, in the name of his Son.

There is no name 'under heaven given among men by which we must be saved' (Acts 4:12) but the name of Jesus. Today's prayer presents its petition to the Father in that all-powerful name, with the confidence the Infant Jesus invites.

Daily Novena Prayer (recited every day)

Prayer of Thanksgiving to the Divine Infant Jesus

Divine Infant Jesus, I know You love me and would never leave me. I thank You for Your close Presence in my life. Miraculous Infant, I believe in Your promise of peace, blessings, and freedom from want. I place every need and care in Your hands. Lord Jesus, may I always trust in Your generous mercy and love. I want to honor and praise You, now and forever. Amen.

The traditional Prayer of Thanksgiving that concludes the Infant of Prague novena, preceded each day by the three petitions beginning "O Jesus, Who has said..." Recited each of the nine days.

Concluding prayers: Many novena traditions add one Our Father, one Hail Mary, and one Glory Be at the close of each day's prayer.
