About St. Ann (Jacob/Raddle)

St. Ann in Jacob traces its roots to 1868, when the first Mass for this rural Illinois community was celebrated by Bishop Damien Junker of the Diocese of Alton; the Jacob church building itself was blessed in 1888 and dedicated in 1912. Today, under the pastorate of Fr. Joel Seipp, it is twinned with St. Andrew in Murphysboro as part of the Diocese of Belleville, preserving the German and Bohemian immigrant heritage of its founding generations while serving Sunday morning Mass for the surrounding Jackson County countryside.
