Holy Rosary

Holy Rosary is a Roman Catholic parish in Scotts Mills, Oregon, in the Archdiocese of Portland in Oregon. Founded in 1881 with Fr. Adelhelm Odermatt as pastor and Fr. Nicholas Frei as assistant, the parish has Benedictine heritage spanning over 135 years through both the monks of Mount Angel Abbey (originally from Engelberg Abbey, Switzerland) who serve as priests, and the Sisters of Queen of Angels Monastery (from Maria Reichenbach Monastery, Switzerland) who served as teachers and in other ministries. The parish includes descendants of German and Swiss Catholic families who moved or immigrated beginning in 1867, as well as descendants of Mexican-American and Latino Catholic families.
