Mount Angel Abbey

Mount Angel Abbey is a Roman Rite Benedictine monastery located in Saint Benedict, Oregon, within the Archdiocese of Portland in Oregon. Saint Benedict of Nursia (c. 480 – c. 547) is venerated in the Catholic Church as the patron saint of Europe and students. He founded twelve communities for monks in Italy, most famously the monastery of Monte Cassino, and wrote the Rule of Saint Benedict, which became a foundational
