Founded in 1881 by miners building a Catholic presence in the silver-mining town, St. Mary of the Assumption serves Park City and the wider Wasatch Back for the Diocese of Salt Lake City. Its Old Town Chapel is Utah's oldest Catholic church building. The parish ministers to a mixed mountain community in both English and Spanish, with Spanish-language Masses on Sundays and a midweek evening, alongside daily morning Mass and Saturday vigils.
