Prayers for Hope

Hope in Catholic teaching is a virtue to be practiced, not a mood to be waited for — which is why the Church gives it a prayer. The Act of Hope is short enough to say when hoping feels impossible.

Traditional prayers

Act of Hope

O my God, relying on thy almighty power
and infinite mercy and promises,
I hope to obtain pardon of my sins,
the help of thy grace,
and life everlasting,
through the merits of Jesus Christ,
my Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
