Prayers for Financial Help

Christ's teaching on money worries in Matthew 6 is bracingly practical: seek first the kingdom, and trust the rest to the Father who knows what you need. The Church pairs it with St. Joseph, who managed a poor household's accounts.

Traditional prayers

Memorare

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help, or sought thy intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee,
O Virgin of virgins, my Mother;
to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

From Scripture

31Be not solicitous therefore, saying: What shall we eat: or what shall we drink, or wherewith shall we be clothed?

32For after all these things do the heathens seek. For your Father knoweth that you have need of all these things.

33Seek ye therefore first the kingdom of God, and his justice, and all these things shall be added unto you.
