About St. Mary of Victories

Founded in 1843, St. Mary of Victories stands south of the Gateway Arch as one of St. Louis's oldest Catholic churches and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Originally a German immigrant parish, it has served as a spiritual home for Hungarian Catholic refugees since 1956, and its ornate high altar holds hundreds of sacred relics. The church celebrates a periodic Latin Novus Ordo Mass with Gregorian chant — one of the few such Masses in the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
