Founded in 1865 during the Civil War by soldiers of the 1st California Infantry Regiment, Sts. Peter and Paul in Wilmington is among the oldest parishes in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Norbertine Fathers from Saint Michael's Abbey have led the community since 2006, offering nine Sunday Masses in English, Spanish, and Latin, operating a Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration chapel since 2004, and holding designation as one of only 20 archdiocesan pilgrimage churches.
