Founded in 1872 by Jesuit missionaries, St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne, Louisiana has served the Acadiana community for more than 150 years. The parish's storied past includes a remarkable 1880 relocation of its original church building — moved by a team of 120 oxen — and the striking 1952 edifice that stands today.
