About St. Christopher
St. Christopher Parish in Tonawanda began as a mission church in 1928 before being established as a full parish in 1935 by Bishop William Turner. After fire destroyed the original building in 1988, parishioners rebuilt the church over four years—an experience the community recalls as deepening their understanding that "church" means the people of God, not the building. Now part of the Roman Catholic Community of the Tonawandas within the Diocese of Buffalo, the parish offers Sunday Masses in English and Spanish and weekday evening liturgies throughout the week.
