When a diocesan merger decree threatened the parish's independence in 2025, parishioners successfully persuaded the bishop to rescind it, in part because St. John's building now houses the regional Southern Tier Catholic School. Mass is offered Sunday morning, Wednesday morning, and Saturday vigil.
