Santa Maria Mission
About Santa Maria Mission
Founded in 2001 by St. Mary Catholic Church to serve Hispanic immigrants in North Tampa's "Suitcase City" neighborhood, Santa Maria Mission brings the Church directly to underserved communities rather than requiring them to travel. Sunday Mass draws over 400 worshippers and is held in St. Mary's Family Center while a permanent temple is under construction. The mission pairs weekly worship with health screenings, food distribution, and social services through partnerships with Catholic Charities and local agencies.
