About Church of the Holy Family
Founded in 1699 by Jesuit missionaries, the Church of the Holy Family in Cahokia, Illinois, is widely recognized as the oldest continuously active Catholic parish in the United States and a National Historic Landmark. Its 18th-century building survives as one of the last examples of French colonial poteaux-sur-sol timber construction in North America, and the parish today offers both a Sunday morning Traditional Latin Mass and a contemporary Sunday liturgy within the Diocese of Belleville.
