A Jesuit-run chapel in Los Angeles's Little Tokyo, St. Francis Xavier — formerly known as Maryknoll — has long served the Japanese Catholic community of Southern California under Fr. Doan Hoang, S.J. Sunday Mass is offered in Japanese at 8:30 a.m. and in English at 10:00 a.m., with weekday noon Masses Tuesday through Friday; the chapel houses a venerated image of Our Lady of Akita.
