St. Elias

St. Elias Byzantine Catholic Church in Munhall, Pennsylvania, was founded in 1905 by Hungarian Greek Catholics who sought to worship in their native tongue and Byzantine tradition. Today the parish occupies a 13-acre campus whose church, dedicated in 1966, continues to anchor four generations of Byzantine Rite Catholic life under Pastor Fr. Vitalii Stashkevych. Annual events including a Christmas Market and St. Elias Festival, alongside Eastern Christian Formation classes and a Lenten Kitchen, keep the parish's Hungarian-Byzantine heritage vibrantly alive in the Archeparchy of Pittsburgh.
