The Diocesan Shrine of St. Therese of Lisieux in Nesquehoning, Pennsylvania traces its roots to an Italian immigrant parish founded in 1913 and was designated a shrine by the Diocese of Allentown in 2012. A 1945 Grotto Shrine and the annual "Shower of Roses" festival — begun in 1932 on St. Therese's feast day — have drawn pilgrims from across the tri-state area for generations.
