One of Pennsylvania's oldest Catholic communities, St. Andrew the Apostle has served Waynesboro since its founding in 1818 — when the first Mass was celebrated in a parishioner's home. Today the parish offers daily morning Mass throughout the week, within the Diocese of Harrisburg, and operates St. Andrew Catholic School (est. 1925), the only private K–8 school in Waynesboro.
