Celebrating its 85th year, St. Rita Catholic Church in San Diego's Encanto neighborhood has grown into a vibrant multicultural community under the patronage of the saint known as the "patroness of impossible causes." Pastor Fr. Silverio Espenilla, Jr. leads a parish that brings together Filipino-American and Samoan communities alongside its English- and Spanish-speaking faithful, offering daily morning Mass and four Sunday Masses. A First Friday Eucharistic Adoration devotion, an affiliated school, and ministries ranging from the Knights of Peter Claver to a Discipleship Pathway initiative round out parish life in the Diocese of San Diego.
