Saint Mary Catholic Church

Saint Mary Catholic Church is a Roman Catholic parish in San Saba, Texas, in the Diocese of Austin. The Catholic Church in San Saba was first organized in the home of Ed Campbell in early 1860, with a priest visiting once yearly on horseback. The first church was built in 1891, and the current church was constructed in 1967. In 2019, following a capital campaign and with assistance from the Diocese of Austin, the parish completed the Parish Life Center, a religious education facility with classrooms, offices, and a fellowship hall. From 1860 until 1946, the parish belonged to the Diocese of San Antonio before becoming part of the Diocese of Austin.
