Established as a mission parish in 1895 near Goodrich in rural Kankakee County, Sacred Heart is one of three communities forming the Tri-Parish Catholics of the Diocese of Joliet — alongside St. Margaret Mary in Herscher and St. James the Apostle in Irwin.
