About St. Joseph
St. Joseph Mission serves the Soboba Band of Luiseno Mission Indians and the wider San Jacinto community in the Diocese of San Bernardino. Catholic roots on the reservation reach back to 1883; the present church, originally dedicated to St. Rose of Lima and rebuilt after the 1899 earthquake, was renamed for St. Joseph in 1910. Today it offers a Sunday morning Mass alongside weekday Masses on Tuesday and Friday.
