About Our Lady of the Holy Family Parish - Holy Family
Founded in 1857 by Jesuit Fr. Arnold Damen, Holy Family is one of Chicago's oldest Catholic churches and one of the few structures to survive the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. Its Victorian Gothic Revival interior — designed by Chicago's first registered architect, John Van Osdel — was restored in the early 1990s through a $3 million community effort, and the church was returned to the Society of Jesus in 2019. Mass is offered on the first Friday of each month at 1080 W. Roosevelt Road.
