About St. Stephen
Established in 1980 and raised to full parish status in 1981, St. Stephen in Ona, West Virginia is home to a striking 11,000-square-foot multipurpose building where handwoven Stations of the Cross by local master weaver Beatrice Bannerman line the walls. Fr. Martin Smay leads the community, which gathers for Sunday Mass and weekday services on Wednesday and Friday, and runs E.C.C.H.O., a food and clothing ministry serving the surrounding area.
