St. Albert's Priory Chapel

St. Albert's Priory Chapel is a Dominican Friar chapel in Oakland, California, operated by the Western Dominican Province since 1932. The priory was founded to form young men in the Order of Preachers tradition near a major university, and the chapel — completed in 1940 on the former Rose Lawn Park estate — offers daily evening Mass alongside a monastic schedule of the Divine Office. Open to the public, it is a rare opportunity to worship alongside friars living the Dominican charism of poverty, chastity, and obedience.
