Nestled in the historic Tortugas community south of Las Cruces, Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine & Parish traces its roots to 1852, when land was granted to descendants of the Piro, Manso, and Tiwa peoples. The parish holds a cherished annual Fiesta of Our Lady of Guadalupe each December 10–12, weaving Indigenous matachines dances with Catholic tradition in a celebration unique to southern New Mexico. Sunday Masses are offered in both English and Spanish, with daily morning Mass throughout the week.
