The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Wichita, Kansas is the mother church of the Diocese of Wichita, presided over by Most Reverend Carl A. Kemme. The cathedral holds a singular place in American Catholic history as the resting place of Father Emil Kapaun, the Korean War chaplain and prisoner of war whose remains were entombed in its east transept in 2021 as his cause for canonization advances.
