Founded in 1867 when Father James Clare became its first pastor, St. Canice Catholic Church has served the foothills community of Nevada City, California for more than 150 years and today comprises roughly 500 families. The parish offers daily 7:30 a.m. weekday Mass, a Saturday vigil, and Sunday Mass at 9:00 a.m., alongside Eucharistic Adoration, a Divine Mercy Prayer Group, adult Bible study, and active men's and women's guilds — all under the leadership of Parochial Administrator Fr. Alexander Estrella in the Diocese of Sacramento.
