A minor basilica and national Marian shrine in the Rio Grande Valley, rooted in a devotion originating in México in 1623 and drawing over one million pilgrims annually. Elevated to basilica status by Pope John Paul II in 1999, the Basilica of Our Lady of San Juan del Valle offers daily bilingual Mass and confession in the Reconciliation Chapel, and is distinguished by forty stained-glass windows depicting the Mysteries of the Rosary and Martyrs of the Faith.
