Founded in 1964 as a mission for Byzantine Catholics who had no Eastern Catholic church south of New Jersey, St. Therese of Lisieux Byzantine Catholic Church in Saint Petersburg celebrates the Divine Liturgy on Sunday mornings under the Byzantine Catholic Eparchy of Passaic. The current church building, dedicated in 1992 and described by parishioners as a very beautiful jewel, is led by Father Robert Evancho and remains the spiritual home for Byzantine Catholics across Florida's Gulf Coast.
