About St. Joseph
St. Joseph in Ada, Oklahoma, traces its roots to 1894, when four Catholic families traveled thirteen hours to attend Mass together, and was formally established as a parish in 1902. The 1962 church building, whose soaring parabolic "Arms of Christ" shape conveys open-armed welcome, once boasted one of the largest expanses of stained glass west of the Mississippi. Under Pastor Fr. Jaroslaw Topolewski, the bilingual English-and-Spanish Sunday Mass reflects Ada's diverse Catholic community, complemented by a prison ministry, St. Vincent de Paul outreach, and the Teen 3:16 youth group.
