Queen of Angels traces its roots to 1929, when a rented storefront on Skillman Avenue became a chapel for Sunnyside's growing Catholic families; the parish was formally established on October 1, 1953, the feast of St. Teresa. Today this Diocese of Brooklyn community in western Queens offers daily weekday Mass, a Saturday vigil, and three Sunday Masses — including a 10:30 a.m. Spanish-language celebration — reflecting the neighborhood's vibrant, multicultural character.
