Founded in 1938 under the Missionaries of LaSalette, St. Joseph Catholic Church in DeRidder serves more than 600 families across nearly all of Beauregard Parish — making it the geographically largest parish in the Diocese of Lake Charles. Historically tended by priests traveling on horseback and later by train, the community completed a major $800,000 renovation in 2011 and today offers daily noon Masses, two Sunday Masses, and a Spanish-language Mass on the fourth Sunday of each month.
