Founded in 1833 as the first Catholic parish established outside the boundaries of the original French city, Old St. Patrick's stands at 724 Camp Street in New Orleans' Central Business District as a National Historic Landmark. Its soaring 185-foot Gothic tower, Leon Pomarede murals of the Transfiguration, fan vaulting, and original cypress pews make it one of the most architecturally distinguished churches in Louisiana. Four Sunday Masses—from 8:00 a.m. through a 5:30 p.m. evening celebration—welcome downtown workers, residents, and pilgrims alike in the Archdiocese of New Orleans.
