About St. John the Baptist

Founded in 1855 by Irish Catholic immigrants, St. John the Baptist in Hubbardston, Michigan holds a rare dual distinction: it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a designated Michigan Historical Site. The 1868 stone church — built by ship-builders at a cost of $8,000 and graced with eighteen stained glass windows — has been in continuous operation longer than any other church in the Diocese of Grand Rapids. It is served today in partnership with neighboring St. Mary's Parish, with Sunday Masses at 9:00 and 10:30 AM.
