Church of St. John the Baptist (Ukrainian)

Saint John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Hunter, New York is a Ukrainian Greek Catholic parish founded in 1962 in the Northern Catskills, its church building designed to evoke the traditional village chapels of the Carpathian Mountains. Part of the Eparchy of Stamford, the parish is both a spiritual home for the Ukrainian immigrant community and a regional cultural hub — hosting the Music and Art Center of Greene County classical summer series (running since 1983) and offering folk-art courses in Ukrainian embroidery, egg decorating, and beadwork. Divine Liturgy is celebrated in Ukrainian on Sundays, with seasonal times shifting between the main church and the Grazhda Chapel.
