Founded in 1919, St. Elisabeth of Hungary is the oldest Catholic parish in the central San Fernando Valley, serving Van Nuys within the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Since 2023 the parish has been led by its eleventh pastor, Rogationist Fr. Shinto Sebastian, who shepherds a cross-cultural, multilingual community in a church building dedicated in 1950. Six Sunday Masses plus daily morning and evening Masses throughout the week reflect the parish's deep roots and large, active congregation.
