A historically Black Catholic parish in the Diocese of Beaumont, Our Mother of Mercy traces its roots to a Josephite mission opened on Beaumont's south side in 1927 to serve the area's growing African-American Catholic families. The Texas parish remains a hub of community life, home to groups such as the Knights of Peter Claver, with daily morning Mass, a Saturday evening vigil, and a livestreamed Sunday liturgy.
