About St. Lawrence
St. Lawrence Parish is a Roman Rite Catholic parish located in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan, within the Archdiocese of Regina. Saint Lawrence was one of the seven deacons of the city of Rome under Pope Sixtus II. He was martyred in 258 AD during the persecution of Valerian and is venerated as a saint in the Catholic Church. He is traditionally recognized as the patron saint of deacons, cooks, and the poor.
