Our Lady of Good Counsel traces its roots to the 1875 mission churches that Fr. Stephen Langlade founded among German settlers in the Mill Creek and Elkton area west of St. Augustine. The present church on State Road 16 opened in November 1999, and the community was raised from a mission of St. Ambrose to a full parish of the Diocese of St. Augustine in 2008. Mass is celebrated daily, with a Saturday vigil and three Sunday morning and midday liturgies.
