Our Lady, Star of the Sea

Our Lady, Star of the Sea is a Roman Rite parish located in Castlebay, Scotland, within the Diocese of Argyll and the Isles. The title "Star of the Sea" (Stella Maris) is an ancient appellation for Mary, mother of Jesus. It has been used since at least the early medieval period, particularly by those who travel or work on the sea, to invoke her as a guide and protector.
